ABOUT US

Brighton Rowing Club, or BRC, was founded in 1998. Since then the program has continued growing in size and quality. Today the club averages 60 rowers and competes in more than 15 regattas including the Head of the Charles, the New York State Championships, and the Junior National Invitational Regatta.

The Club offers opportunities for both sweep rowing and sculling.

Our rowers have been recruited by, and have gone on to row at Annapolis, Brown, Bryn Mawr, Delaware, Duquesne, Georgetown, Hamilton, Hobart, Princeton, St. Joe’s, Stanford, Trinity, Tulane,  University of Buffalo, University of Connecticut, Vassar, Villanova, William Smith, Wisconsin, and Yale.

Rowers can participate in one or both of our two seasons, fall and winter/spring.  During the fall and later in the winter/spring season, practice is on the Genessee River and Erie Canal.  Practices earlier in the winter/spring season occur on rowing machines and in fitness centers.

BRC is led by volunteers and  is not a school-funded sport; there is a fee for each season and for each regatta.
