About Us

Brighton Rowing Club was founded in 1998. Since then the program has continued growing in size and quality. Today the club averages 60 rowers and competes in more than 15 regattas including the Head of the Charles, the New York State Championships and the Junior National Invitational Regatta.

Our rowers have been recruited by, and gone on to row at Annapolis, Bryn Mawr, Delaware, Duquesne, Georgetown, Hamilton, Hobart, Princeton, St. Joe’s, Stanford, Tulane,  University of Buffalo, Vassar, Villanova, William Smith, Wisconsin, and Yale.

Rowers can participate in all or one of our three seasons: fall, winter and spring.  During the fall and spring, practice is on the Genessee River and Erie Canal.  In the winter, practices occur on rowing machines and in fitness centers.  Training occurs Monday – Friday in all weather for approximately 2 hours.

BRC is not a school-funded sport; there is a fee for each season and for each regatta.
